The Merida eBig Nine 600 Electric Mountain Bike has a lot to offer with the latest version now coming equipped with the Shimano STePS EP8 drive unit offering best-in-class torque figures of 85Nm so you can easly power up big mountains or casually criose to work. The Shimano STePS EP8 drive unit offers 85Nm of torque and 4 assist modes, with the Shimano STePS E8036 630Wh battery offering over 100km of range to a single charge. There are a couple of great features of the Shimano StePS E8036 battery: firstly it can charge to 50% capacity in just 2.5 hours and takes 6 hours to completely charge, while its design allows it to be integrated into the eBig Nine’s frame. Not only does this provide the battery with extra protection, it improves the structural soundness of the eBig Nine and ensures a sleek design. Of course, everything is simple to use, so you can select different assistance modes with the display and the motor will assist you automatically as soon as you begin pedalling – with pedal assist it has never been easier to start riding! In line with the comfortable design and low step-over frame, Merida has equipped this bike with 100mm of suspension in the front helping you maintain plenty of grip in looser conditions and keeping things comfortable and steady on those longer more leisurely rides. They’ve fitted the bike with strong, dependable Shimano Deore 4 piston hydraulic disc brakes up front alongside big 180mm RT30 rotors giving you easy to use braking power giving you extra control and confidence around corners and on descents.
